Judy Reid is the Executive Director of The Peacemaker Center. In conjunction with the board she has been creating the vision and leading The Peacemaker Center since its inception in 2000. Judy supervises all of the clinical staff which helps to maintain the high standard of clinical excellence. Judy received her Bachelors Degree in Social Work from Eastern College and her Masters Degree in Social Work from Marywood Graduate School of Social Work. Her post graduate work includes certification in marriage and Family Therapy from The Family Institute of Philadelphia. She currently holds both a Clinical Social Work license and a Marriage and Family Therapy License in Pennsylvania. She is also an Approved Supervisor from the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. Judy is certified in EMDR which is the approved therapy for trauma by the Red Cross and the US Army. Judy works from a Biblical perspective using a family systems framework that includes understanding and changing patterns in one’s life. She is passionate about working with children and adults with learning disabilities, foster care and behavioral health services. Judy also works with people who have experienced trauma, mood disorders and anxiety disorders. Her resume includes 25 years of experience working with Access Services, a Christian non-profit social service agency.
Judy's vision for The Peacemaker Center comes from a life time of seeing God work in her life during very difficult circumstances. She takes to heart II Corinthians 1: 3-5 where Paul writes "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows." Judy loves to see God at work in people’s lives. She views crisis as an opportunity to see God at work.
Judy lives with her husband Rob who was also instrumental in starting The Peacemaker Center. They were married in 1985 and have two sons and a daughter. Rob shares Judy’s passion for helping hurting people. Rob is currently the President & CEO of Access Services. Together they have used their spiritual gifts in their personal life as well. They have opened their home to people in need over the years through Foster care and Lifesharing Programs with Bethanna and Kencrest Services. Both Rob and Judy have been actively involved at Calvary Fellowship Church since they were married.
