Karen Uhler has a BA in criminal justice from The College of New Jersey and an MA in counseling from Immaculata College. Karen is a licensed professional counselor in the state of PA. She has worked with adolescents and adults since 1980. Her experience includes drug and alcohol rehab, mental health issues, individual and marriage counseling, and women with eating disorders. She worked for four years at an inpatient rehabilitation center for 14 to 25 year old adolescents and young adults. Karen’s practice includes using the Prepare and Enrich curriculum in conjunction with Scott Edwards. This unique combination of co-therapy from a male and female perspective allows couples to focus on gender roles and conflicts. Karen’s clinical approach is reality therapy. She keeps a careful balance of lovingly supporting her clients while helping them face the work required to make change in their life. The central tenant of her counseling is based on her belief that God is the ultimate healer and that helping a client see themselves as Christ sees them is the power over their addictions and compulsions.
