Karen Uhler has a BA in criminal justice from The College of New Jersey and an MA in counseling from Immaculata College. She has worked with adolescents on up since 1980 in drug and alcohol rehab, mental health issues, individual and marriage health and women with eating disorders. She worked for four years at fulltime inpatient rehabilitation center for 14 to 25 year old adolescents and young adults as its 4pm-12am supervisor.
In 1984 she married and continued counseling outpatient alcohol and methadone maintenance clients for another three years. While raising her family, she lay counseled people through her church. Karen's goal in counseling is for people to understand that God is the ultimate healer and that in seeing themselves as Christ sees them is the power over their addictions and compulsions.
She would like to see the center expand its outreach and feels the impact is multiplied when her successful teen clients share their testimonies with peers, demonstrating that help is there, and encouraging them to get it. Karen attends, Calvary Fellowship Church.
