Peggy MacQueen

Peggy came to The Peacemaker Center after completing her M.S. in Counseling and Higher Education from West Chester University. After working 9 years at Eastern University, as an admissions counselor and assistant director of Financial Aid, she felt God calling her to pursue her master's degree in counseling. Peggy interned at Life Counseling Services in Berwyn, and ran divorce care groups for divorced individuals at Christ Community Church in West Chester, PA. She also ran a group for teens of divorced parents.

Through the past few years, Peggy has worked with women, young and older to deal with past issues of sexual abuse. Working through the trauma and the issues of anxiety and depression that most often accompany these experiences, she has found that her clients have had results in leaving some of the past behind while moving forward to the freedom that is found in the Christian counseling process. In addition to working with trauma and sexual abuse, she also works with individuals who struggle with anxiety and depression. Likewise, she has had effective results working with people who are walking through the grief process.

Her love for counseling stems from her upbringing as a pastor's daughter who saw first hand God's touch in healing the lives of those around her. Peggy's scripture verse of choice is one in which she believes in and is applicable to the clients that she sees. Jeremiah 29:11-14a "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me. I will be found by you and will bring you back from captivity." She has been married for 16 years and is the mother of 2 daughters. She is active in her church facilitating women's Bible study and singing on the worship team.
